Volunteer

If you're interested in volunteering some of your time with Safe Amp, email our volunteer co-ordinator at marita@safeamp.org and she'll tell you how you can help out. Let her know if there's anything specific you would like to do, and she'll keep you posted on any volunteer opportunities that may come up!

The following are easy volunteer jobs that anyone can do. Download a log sheet to keep track of your hours and then GO FOR IT!

- Come to one of our general meetings and sign up for a volunteer job from within one of our committees. (If you're trying to pay your membership fee with volunteer hours, attending a two hour meeting DOES count as volunteer time.)

- Spread the word about Safe Amp and why it's necessary. Get some pamphlets from our secretary or download the files and print them yourself. Give them to people you know or bring them to places where people go.

- Write a letter of support for Safe Amp. Your letter should explain in your own words why this project is important and what it means to you personally. If you consider yourself 'youth,' be sure to include your age. If you consider yourself 'a professional,' be sure to mention your position and use company letterhead if possible. We'll post all your letters on this website, and may use selected letters in grant applications or other relevant documents. Send all letters to secretary@safeamp.org.

- Help us finish our database of press contacts. Email secretary@safeamp.org to gain access to the google document where we keep this database.

- Bake some food to sell at one of our bake sale fundraisers (vegan preferred). Contact our fundraising co-ordinator for more information.

- Organize a fundraiser event. Click here for more information.

- Come to a Safe Amp event and offer to help. Just ask the person working at the door if there's anything you can do - examples include selling merch, helping with sound, cleaning up, working the door, etc.

- Take photos of one of our events or meetings, so we can post them on our Flickr page. Just email the photos to steve@safeamp.org.

- Ask your place of work or school about setting up a Safe Amp Donation Jar there (if there's a safe yet high traffic location for it!) Contact our Donation Jar Co-ordinator for more information.

- Consider applying for one of our long-term volunteer positions.
