Volunteer Job Posting for 'Display Manager'
Introduction
A few of our members have created a large Safe Amp Information Display and Banner. We need to make sure these things are brought to as many events as possible.
Duties
You will be in charge of making sure that our awesome new SASS Information Display and Banner make it to a large number of events in Vancouver. To do this, you'll need to:
- Bring the display to every SASS event and meeting and set it up in an appropriate location. Bring it home with you afterwords.
- Find out about relevant non-SASS events, contact their organizers to see if it's alright to bring our display there, and if it is, do it.
- Replenish the contents of the display (flyers, membership forms, etc.) as needed and be sure you have enough of each item before every event.
- Empty the donations / mail slot after every event and bring the donations and mail to our Treasurer and Secretary.
- If the display ever gets damaged, fix it or find someone else to fix it.
- Keep an eye on the display at all events so that no one steals from the donations slot.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:
- Be committed to doing this for a long time - think one year minimum.
- Have a car and be willing to donate a bit of gasoline to SASS. (The display
is too big to comfortably carry on transit or bike.)
- Have plenty of available time, especially in the evenings. There seems
to be about three Safe Amp events and one meeting per month.
- Have friends you can ask to temporarily take your place if you can't make
it to a meeting or event.
- Have a safe, clean and dry place to store the display
at your house.
- Know about relevant non-SASS events in Vancouver and be willing to take
the initiative and ask their organizers if we can bring our display.
- Be hard-working and self-motivated. Know your job and do it without needing
to be reminded.
- Be comfortable handling money and important forms and be careful not to
lose them.
- It would be good if you know how to sew (or have friends who can sew),
in case we need to change or add new things to the display over time.
Application
If you are interested in applying for this position, please email secretary@safeamp.org. We will contact you for an interview.
