Committees, Task Forces and Solo Positions

Fundraising Committee

In order to start a venue, we need an initial amount of startup money. The Fundraising Committee is dedicated to raising this money through grassroots endeavours such as fundraiser shows, selling merchandise, etc. This committee meets at every General Meeting; to get involved, come to a meeting or email the committee chair at caitlin@safeamp.org.

Outreach Committee

This committee is in charge of raising awareness for Safe Amp and why it's necessary as well as collaborating and building partnerships with other organizations. They meet at every General Meeting; to get involved, come to a meeting or email the committee chair at marita@safeamp.org.

Legal Task Force

In order to start a legal venue, we need to know what all the laws are - this is more complicated than one might think. Our Legal Task Force is in charge of finding out what these laws and regulations are and ensuring that Safe Amp complies with them both now and in the future. The Legal Task Force meets at some General Meetings and sometimes on their own. To get involved, contact the chair at steve@safeamp.org.

Grants Task Force

In order to be financially sustainable, Safe Amp needs support through various grants. Our Grants Task Force is in charge of identifying and applying for such grants as well as following through with the appropriate expenditure of grant funding. The Grants Task Force meets at some General Meetings and sometimes on their own. To get involved, contact the chair at corbin@safeamp.org.

Feasibility Study Task Force

In Spring 2010, Safe Amp was awarded a grant from the City of Vancouer to write a Feasibility Study that will solidify plans for our future venue. We've launched a Task Force to complete the study; it meets at some General Meetings and sometimes on their own. To get involved, contact the chair at corbin@safeamp.org.

Constitutional Review Task Force

This is a small group dedicated to revising the legally-binding documents of the Society. We want to make sure that our Constitution and Bylaws reflect where we currently are as a Society, while leaving room for us to grow in the future. If you're interested in joing this task force, email aaron@safeamp.org.

Venues Task Force

While we are preparing to have a venue space of our own, Safe Amp intends to use other venues on a temporary basis. Our Venues Task Force is in charge of identifying potential venues that can be used for Safe Amp events. The Task Force is not currently active, but will be reborn by Fall, 2010.
